Well, I rarely check my guestbook because it doesn't get signed all that often, then Cara was kind enough to sign it and tell me about it, and so I have a mixed bag of suprememe happiness, and sort of insulting sadness.

First, there was a kind gentleperson who said nice things about Balancing Act, which made my day, week, all that...then my day ws further improved by the fact that Carla, one of my pen pals from awhile back, wrote me. That was really cool! This is one of the reasons why I love the web...sometimes you can recover the friends you have lost....and the other, probably cooler Cindy Speer has stepped forward.
Cindy, I hope that you read this again! I wanted to say that yes, young is a good thing...I wasn't talking about your writing. Your review was quite cool...a couple of people thought it was me doing the writing because I like vam, pire stuff? So I didn't want people in the future to think I was trying to claim credit. :) Do you still do reviews? And thank you for signing! It was really cool to hear from you!!! Any way, young is....I think young is a good compliment, because it's more original than nice.
Then, the guestbook signing from the gent who's angry about a book review I wrote. I contacted the author herself, Vivian Schilling, and we talked breifly, and let me tell you, I have rarely met a person with more grace. She is a wonderful person, and I hope that you check out Quietus and see what you think.
Eric, on the other hand, should know better than to take his anger out on people in such a public venue. I had very good reasons for the things I said. Reviews are subjective...we do our best to discuss the books in a way that makes sense to our own opinions. I am told....and I find it very hard to believe....but I'm told that people don't like Neil Gaiman. I absolutely adore his work...
So, I think I'll take my horror/thriller hating butt and go watch the rest of the first season of Bffy the Vampire Slayer, after which I plan on reading the rest of Blood Work, by Miceahl Connelly.
I'll probably remove his entry from my guestbook. I find it horrifying and embrassing. But It was really lovely to speak to Ms. Schilling. Man, I have so much respect for her.
