I turned in ten reviews today. Ten. Four were to Affaire de Couer, two to SfSite, two to Mostly fiction, and one to GWN. The final one, to Fantastica Daily, I'll give a link to...

Today Fool's Fate, which I turned in way back last year, has gone live. I'm going to link to the front page on both, so you can read my comments. ;D

Fool's Fate, Robin Hobb

And so the events of the previous two books, Fool’s Errand and Golden Fool culminate to one final adventure. To prove himself worthy to gain a wife and peace pact, Prince Dutiful must slaughter the dragon Icefire. The Outislanders, the people who Dutiful seeks alliance with, are less than thrilled by this declaration, seeing the Dragon as something sacred. When Tom Badgerlock, Prince Dutiful, Chade, and Thick, along with several other people, reach the islands to pick up the princess, her mother and sister are gone. The princess joins their party, but seems reluctant to help solve either mystery. Everyone wonders exactly why the princess has requested something so against the desires of her own people. In fact, no one seems to want to kill the dragon...except for one, an evil nemeses who has returned from the past to show her influence once more.

Tomorrow, Robert Silverberg's Legends II goes live, featuring Neil Gaiman (yay!) Robin Hobb (excellent story) Raymond Feist, and many more.

Eleven of the best known names in fantasy have been gathered together to create short novels set in the worlds they made famous. The word legends has a lot of connotations...that these are legends from the worlds we have visited often and loved, that the writers themselves are, in some way, legendary. Its a connotation that not many people could get away with, but this cast, from Terry Brooks to Tad Williams, not only do so, they create stories that satisfy as well as illuminate an aspect of the world we may never have considered.
